Project Enlightenment Available Now

Project Enlightenment: Venomous Snakes of Florida is now available for reading on Amazon. Link is below.

I created Project Enlightenment to help readers band together to take a step towards conservation, education, and Enlightenment. We can all play a role in saving snake lives. Not only will the information provided in this eBook help readers identify venomous snake species, but it will aid in granting me a platform to share my passion with you. The goal is to connect and view venomous snakes as more than just a misunderstood menace to society. — Rodney Rampersad

One of The Six

Photo by: Rodney Rampersad // Copperhead

Another venomous snake found in Florida, throughout the southeast, and up to northern Massachusetts, is the Copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix).

(Did you know: snakes feed on rodents that would otherwise overpopulate, spreading harmful diseases)

While very timid, these snakes can deliver a nasty bite in self-defense. Like many other species of venomous/non-venomous snake, copperheads tend to release a musk when they feel threatened or cornered. Look but don’t touch, then be on your way.

Stay tuned for Project Enlightenment 2021 for more interesting facts on the Copperhead as they are featured as “one of the six”.
